Taylor Swift by Ladowska Taylor Swift by Ladowska
Taylor Swift portrait,
100x90cm
all done in pencil,
took 16 days, 6 too long in my opinion, 6 days that I was in a bad mood and decided not to draw at all. But still counts, as I finished after 16 days :/ Not too happy about it...

For versions in progress check my blog updates:

Comments greatly appreciated! (:
Thanks!

*OH! And well, I am not a fan of Taylor myself, but noone can doubt that she's pretty, and this is what is always pleasant to draw (:

hi, no i don't use any grid, i wouldnt know how to erase it from the canvas afterwards, you have to be carefull with the sketch. find the description of the blending tools here: 3.bp.blogspot.com/-U4z_CE8d-3o…

Wonderfull work.. You have got a great gallery aswell.. I'm wondering I guess you use 100% cotton?
If so how do you treat it before you start cause its quite a rough texture right? Sandpaper it down or sth?
Great job i love big pieces :)

its canvas, i chose a ready sample so dont really know what did they do to it in the factory... its really small grain though, like a rough paper. thank you (:

Hi! This is a great piece. There's no reason not to be happy about it. But it happens often to me too. I think you are a great artist, most of all, due to your age. If you were 60 years old, you'd be average, but 22... I can't imagine how good you'll be in a few years. Anyway, I have a question, if I may: It's about those really thin white hair threads. How do you do them? Most of what I know about drawing, I learnt by myself. But that... I could never learn, and believe me: I tried. Well, anyway: I think there's no shame in asking for help when you need it. Thank you for the attention and keep up with the good work.

oh hi friend! thank you very much, it's really kind of you. :) and about the hair, first thing that you can try is cutting the edge of a rubber, rubbing a single hair, than cut a rubber again, do a hair or two, cut.... that's how i do it really :p and they are not really thin, believe me, because the works are huge.. as shown here: [link] [link]

hope i was helpful.. :) there are also pens that draw white. but they dont look natural for me, i dont like them. you can buy them in any office/art supply store

Hi! Thank you very much. Well, about those white pens, I agree with you. They're not good at all. About the rubber, that's exactly what I do, but it always comes out too thick, I think. Anyway, in this moment, it's ok that I ca't do it. After all, I'm forced to create characters meant to become tattoos and that's not something we do in a tattoo. It's not possible. Also, I think that the pencils I use are too soft to rub a line over them. But if I didn't use this kind of pencil, I'd be forced to use photoshop to give my drawings the aspect I want them to have. Last doubt, if it isn't to much to ask: What kind of pencil do you use to draw the hair, and what kind of rubber? lol and what kind of paper? Once again, Thank you very much and congratulations. You are one of the most talented persons I ever encountered.

if you find rubber is to thick, I said I cut rubber sharp before every move, every touch on paper. you can not imagine how thin the line could be! ;). for tattoos you ll have to design them so you leave white not filled, blank, which needs the precision I believe you have (; the same happens with rubber: it can not erase everything, i still leave places where i will use it - in lighter layer of pencil. * pencils. I found all pencils above 2B too soft :D I use HB, and 2B only. only. that means i have 2 pencils (2B mechanic pencil 0.5mm and HB mech.pen. 0.3mm), but for most of the time I use 2B one. but the art I do is definitely inappropriate to be a tattoo:D Eraser I use is pink and blue, one of the cheapest, certainly not hard, but never kneaded. just a soft, regular one. * paper. I haven't found a perfect paper yet. very comfortable one is bristol that you wet in a bath and dry with newspapers and leave it for a day to dry. also I use Fabiano, Canson... and none of them is my favourite :/ i found that my master uses "Arches Paper" so I'm gonna try this one too :D ([link]) hope it was helpful again ;)

Yes, really helpful. Thank you very much. I usually use from 2b to 8b lol. I'll try harder ones then. About the paper, I usually use canson, but it doesn't fully satisfy me eather. Guess I have to look around a little. Once again, Thank you very much :)
